An Encouraging Word From Our Chaplain

The Command to encourage others is found throughout the Bible. In 1 Thessalonians 5:11-23 Paul gives specific examples of how we can encourage others. May we continue to acknowledge those who worked hard among you. Continue to build each other up. Point out to someone a quality about them that you appreciate. God Bless

I Thessalonians 5: 11-23

11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
12 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.
13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
14 And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray continually,
18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt
21 but test them all; hold on to what is good,
22 reject every kind of evil.
23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 38:16-17

Lord by such things people live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live. Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love, you kept me from the pit of destruction, you have put all my sins behind your back.

Psalm 56:9

The very moment I call to you for a Father's help the tide of the battle turns and my enemies flee. The one thing I know: God is on my side.

This Psalm stood true in biblical times and it proves true in this day as well. Though there is great fear surrounding the threat of this disease, we can rest assured that we have a Father in Heaven who is with us in all things. This truth is true especially today with the spread of the corona virus. Let us also remember those caring for the sick. May God continue to cover you with his grace and mercy.

Psalm 121 (NIV)
We can depend on God for help to get us through this difficult and trying time.

This song expresses assurance and hope in God's protection day and night.
He not only made the hills but heaven and earth as well.
We should never trust a lesser power than God himself.
But not only is he all-powerful, he also watches over us.
Nothing diverts or deters him. We are safe.
We never outgrow our need for God's untiring watch over our lives.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
Psalm 46:1

"More Prayer, More Power
No Prayer, No Power"
